Fingerprint Access Control System components

A typical fingerprint access control system consists of several key components that work together to deliver a secure system of authentication:

How the System works

User authentication: following a successful user enrolment, users will be required to use the biometric systems for authentication. At this point, when the user attempts to gain access, the biometric reader device captures a new fingerprint image. The image captured then gets converted into a digital template. Then a decision has to be made; a process that takes happens in milliseconds. The authentication template is compared against the stored templates. If the fingerprint match is found within acceptable thresholds, user access will be granted. Otherwise, the user gets denied access.
